After graduating with a BA Honours degree in Fine Art, Photography & Communication Arts from Sheffield University, John moved to London and started work in the film industry under the guidance of Clive Rees - Ocelot Productions. He quickly progressed from camera trainee to camera assistant on commercials for production companies such as Alex Myers & Associates, Gerard de Thame and Ridley Scott Associates.

With well over 100 feature films and many television dramas, documentaries and commercials to his name, John’s wide range of skills and experience provide him with a rare mix of technical capability and artistic talent. He is now widely regarded as one of the world’s top aerial directors of photography and remote-head camera operators.
