DOUGLAS HAGUE BSC

Hague was a Technicolor Lab technician who often worked with “Poppa” Day, a renowned matte painter and together they perfected the technique of shooting glass paintings in Technicolor that were realistic. Among his credits are: Black Narcissus (1947) Oscar for Best Colour Cinematography and The Red Shoes (1948) both directed by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger and photographed by Jack Cardiff OBE BSC and The Titfield Thunderbolt (1953) directed by Charles Crichton and photographed by Douglas Slocombe OBE BSC.
