After studying for a Fine Art Degree at Canterbury College of Art, I then worked in London as a fashion and portrait photographer. Later I became a TV camera operator, which gave me a wealth of experience from light entertainment, studio dramas and live pop programmes, to documentary and sport.

Subsequently I moved to TV commercials, and after shooting a Gold Star Award winning Tuf Shoes ad, worked as a commercial’s DoP for Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Adrian Lyne, and a whole generation of ground-breaking directors.  In the early 1980's I started lighting TV series, such as "The Professionals", and then feature films in the UK and USA.

I am a member of IATSE LOCAL 600 in the USA, The British Society of Cinematographers, GBCT and the AOP – Association of Stills Photographers, UK.
