Erik is a Norwegian cinematographer.
He began his studies in editing before going into cinematography and was a student at the London Film School.
Erik’s varied credits include Bart Layton’s The Imposter, Paddy Considine’s Tyrannosaur, Euros Lyn’s Dreamhorse, the Nick Cave documentary 20.000 Days on Earth for Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance for Director Louis Leterrier.
Paddington in Peru marks Erik’s third feature in the franchise, this time with Director Dougal Wilson, having previously shot the award-winning Paddington and the equally celebrated sequel. He has also worked extensively with Director Richard Ayoade on features including The Double, the BAFTA award-winning Submarine and on music promos for Arctic Monkeys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Kasabian.
In 2022, Erik received BAFTA, Camerimage, BSC and RTS Awards for his work on Landscapers with Director Will Sharpe for whom he also lensed The Electrical Life Of Louis Wain. Most recently, Erik shot Better Man, an original musical from Greatest Showman Director Michael Gracey.'
