BSC Short Film Cinematographers Competition - Open for entries

We are expecting this years event to take place online, with details to follow. If the Covid 19 situation allows we will run the event at the Regent Street Cinema.

Criteria for entry

Submission is free
Films to be a maximum of 20 minutes
A shortened ‘cinematographers cut’ may be submitted provided it retains enough of the ‘essence’ of the film.
Films to have been produced within the past 18 months of the closing date. Entry Form.pdf 
Films will be judged by full members of the BSC who will take particular notice of the creativity and an appreciation of the art of cinema, and how the lighting, composition and camera movement have been used to enhance the story and mood of the film.

 

BSC Student Short Film Cinematography Award

All Student and Graduates (up to 18 months after graduating) from UK Institutions are eligible and do not need to be BSC Club Members.

 

BSC Short Film Cinematography Award

Only shorts photographed by BSC Club Members are eligible to be entered for this award.

Entries from drama, documentaries and Stop-Motion animation projects are all welcome.

 

Previous BSC Club member winners are not eligible to submit again.

Winner of BSC Student Short Film Cinematography Award will receive the prize of an ALEXA Mini and Master Anamorphic or Signature Prime lenses for a week

Winner of BSC Short Film Cinematography Award will receive the prize of a camera package based on ALEXA Mini LF and Signature Prime lenses for a week

The winners will be announced at the event. Certificates to be presented at the main BSC Awards Evening.

The winners will be invited to attend the event at no cost.
