Congratulations to Kommer Kleijn who is to be awarded the title of Fellow of the Society of the Motion Picture & Television Engineers (SMPTE) on November 10th . This well deserved honour is conferred on individuals who have, through their proficiency and contributions to the motion-picture, television or related industries, attained an outstanding rank among engineers or executives in media and entertainment.
We at the BSC hold Kommer in esteem and in 2009 honoured him with the BSC Bert Easey Technical Award for his achievement in implementing the 60 frame rate proposal as an addition to the International Standard for digital projection.
