2023 Primetime Emmy Award Nominations Announced

 

The 2023 Primetime Emmy Nominations were announced on Wednesday 12th July and we were delighted to see two society members nominated in the Cinematography For A Series (One Hour) category.

  • Catherine Goldschmidt BSC is nominated for her photography of "The Lords of the Tide" from House of the Dragon
  • Adriano Goldman ASC BSC ABC is nominated for his photography of "Mou Mou" from The Crown

In addition to this society members shot some of the most successful and nominated programs this year:

  • The Last of Us was nominated for 25 Emmy-awards and had Eden Bolter BSC as Cinematographer on three episodes including the acclaimed "Long, Long Time";
  • Wednesday was nominated for 12 Emmys included Outstanding Comedy Series and featured Stephan Pehrsson BSC as Cinematographer of its 2nd Block;
  • House of the Dragon is nominated for 9 Emmys including Drama Series and features both Fabian Wagner ASC BSC and Catherine Goldschmidt BSC among its Cinematographers;
  • Andor is nominated for 8 Emmys and the show was originated under the leadership of Adriano Goldman ASC BSC ABC;
  • The Crown has 6 Emmy nominations for its 5th Season including Adriano for his Cinematography of "Mou, Mou";
  • Bad Sisters is nominated for 4 Emmys and had Tim Palmer BSC as DOP on the final four episodes of the Season.
  • Shadow and Bone is nominated for Visual Effects and was shot by David Higgs BSC;
  • The Nevers is nominated for Visual Effects and had among its Cinematographers, Seamus McGarvey ASC BSC ISC, Ben Smithard BSC and Kate Reid BSC;
  • The Diplomat is nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series and was shot by Julian Court BSC.
