The 2024 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) nominations were revealed on Wednesday with BSC members dominating the Cinematography nominations as well as the work nominated in the Drama Series and Limited Series categories.
In the Photography & Lighting: Fiction category, three of the four nominations went to society members:
This is the first nomination for Eben and the second nomination for Stephan Pehrsson BSC who was previously nominated for his work on "Black Mirror: USS Callister" and Ed Rutherford BSC who was previously nominated for "Little Birds".
Our members contributed their photography to these nominated shows. The Gold was features the Cinematography of Stuart Bentley BSC (Episodes 1, 3 and 4). Happy Valley returned for its final series and features the photography of Dale Elena McCready BSC NZCS on Episodes 1, 2 and 3. Slow Horses got its first nomination in Drama Series and features the beautiful work of Danny Cohen BSC.
In the Limited Series category we have Best Interests which was shot by David Raedeker BSC, Black Mirror: Demon 79 which was shot by nominee Stephan Pehrsson BSC and The Long Shadow which was again shot by nominee Ed Rutherford BSC.
And finally in the International category we have The Last of Us which was shot by nominee Eben Bolter ASC BSC.
Congratulations to all the nominees! the results will be announced in April and May at two awards ceremonies.
