2024 Primetime Emmy Award Nominations Announced!

 

The 76th Annual Primetime Emmy Nominations were announced in Hollywood on Wednesday 17th July, with four BSC members featuring across the Cinematography categories. 

In the Outstanding Cinematography For A Series (One Hour) category, three of the six nominees are BSC members:

  • Christopher Ross BSC for Shōgun "Anjin"
  • Sam McCurdy ASC BSC for Shōgun "Crimson Sky"
  • Adriano Goldman ASC BSC ABC for The Crown "Sleep Dearie, Sleep"

This is Christopher and Sam's first Emmy nominations and the sixth nomination for Adriano Goldman. Adriano has previously won twice for his work on "The Crown". Shōgun led the Emmy-nominations with an incredible 25 nominations.

In the Outstanding Cinematography for a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie we have Florian Hoffmeister BSC for his work on "True Detective: Night Country" - this is Florian's fourth Emmy nomination, he was previously nominated for "Pachinko" and "The Prisoner" he won in 2012 for his Cinematography on "Great Expectations". 

Across the other Emmy categories the work of other society members was featured. "The Gentlemen" scored three Emmy nominations including for Director, Guy Ritchie. Among the Cinematographers on this series was Ed Wild BSC. "Mr and Mrs. Smith" scored an incredible 16 Nominations including Best Drama Series and Actor and Actress for its stars, Stephen Murphy BSC ISC helped bring this show to life with his photography. "Slow Horses" also arrived on the Emmy scene for its third series. The series scored 9 Emmy nominations for Apple including Best Drama Series. Cinematographer, Danny Cohen BSC shot all of Season 3 of this now Emmy-nominated series. 

"Baby Reindeer" secured 11-nominations in the Limited Series category - among the Cinematographers on this Netflix hit was Annika Summerson BSC. "Red White and Royal Blue" is nominated for Outstanding Television Movie as is "Scoop". They were shot by Stephen Goldblatt ASC BSC and Nanu Segal BSC respectively. "Fellow Travelers" scored three Emmy nominations including for its stars Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey - this miniseries was shot by Simon Dennis ASC BSC.
