The British Society of Cinematographers (BSC) has today announced their 2024 Short Film Nominations. In the BSC Club category which is open to any club member the nominees are (in alphabetic order):
ATOM AND VOID - Alex Grigoras, Cinematographer
BOOKYVILLE - Jon Muschamp, Cinematographer
LULLABY - Mark Nutkins, Cinematographer
NEARLY NEVER - Oliver Ford, Cinematographer
SITTER - Ronnie McQuillan, Cinematographer
This is the first nomination for Alex Grigoras, Jon Muschamp and Oliver Ford. Mark Nutkins was nominated in 2021 in this category for his work on the short film “RED”. This is Ronnie McQuillan’s third nomination in this category, he won in 2023 for his work on the short film “Peregrine” and was nominated in 2020 for “Leopard”.

This is the first nomination for Yang Zhang, Moritiz Lips, Adar Raviv, Christopher Hudson and Edward Hamilton-Stubber.

The BSC Short Film competition is sponsored by Arri with the winners in both categories receiving a camera and lens rental package to help them make their next short film. The BSC received over 70 submissions to the two categories with the quality being extremely high.
The 10 nominated films will be showcased at our BSC Short Film afternoon on the 5th October with the winners being announced later that evening.
