Rina Yang BSC Scores Independent Spirit Award Nomination

The nominations for this year's Independent Spirit Awards have been announced and we are thrilled to report that Rina Yang BSC is nominated for Best Cinematography for her work on the film "The Fire Inside". The Fire Inside is also nominated for Lead Performance.

In addition to this Film and Television projects featuring the work of our members are also very much present. "The Substance", shot by Benjamin Kračun BSC is nominated for Best Feature and Lead Performance. "The Brutalist", shot by Lol Crawley BSC is nominated for Best Director. The breakthrough performance of Kate O'Brien is nominated in "Loves Lies Bleeding" shot by Ben Foredeman BSC and the last film shot by Dick Pope BSC, "Hard Truths" is nominated in the International category.

In the Television section we have "Shōgun" shot by Christopher Ross BSC and Sam McCurdy ASC BSC nominated for Best New Scripted, Lead Performance and Supporting Performance. "Baby Reindeer" is nominated for Best New Scripted, Lead Performance, Supporting Performance and Breakthrough Performance, that show features the Cinematography of Annika Summerson BSC. In Non-Scripted and Documentary we have "Erased: WW2’s Heroes of Color" with Kelvin Richard BSC being one of the DoPs on that series, and finally in Supporting Performance we have Betty Gilpin for "Three Women", Three Women was shot by Ula Pontikos BSC.
