BSC Masterclass Weekend - 3rd to 5th May 2025

Our next BSC Masterclass Weekend will take place across the bank holiday weekend of the 3rd to 5th May.

We are delighted to announce our first series of tutors:

•⁠ ⁠Catherine Goldschmidt ASC BSC, Cinematographer of #TheLastOfUs and #HouseOfTheDragon;
•⁠ ⁠Suzie Lavelle BSC ISC, Cinematographer of #Severance, #BridgetJones and of course #NormalPeople;
•⁠ ⁠Bradford Young ASC, Oscar-nominated Cinematographer of #Arrival, #Pariah, #WhenTheySeeUs and #Selma
•⁠ ⁠Jakob Ihre FSF, Emmy-winning #Cinematographer of #Chernobyl, #Thelma, #LouderThanBombs and #TheAgency
•⁠ ⁠Ben Fordesman BSC, Two-time BIFA winning #Cinematographer of #SaintMaud and #LoveLiesBleeding.

We will be announcing further tutors in due course.

We are delighted to welcome Oscar-nominee, Bradford Young ASC as one of the tutors this year.

 

As in previous years we will be returning to our partner provider the National Film and Television School, one the worlds leading film schools with state-of-the-art facilities.

Tickets for the three-day weekend are strictly limited to 22. This is to ensure bespoke teaching and interaction. The cost of the weekend is £1500 (we do not charge VAT). Tickets can be purchased by email duncan@bscine.com – please be aware there is 2.5% charge for using cards.

All profits are reinvested into BSC Education allowing us to deliver free workshops to 18-21 year olds, scholarships and the BSC mentorship scheme.

The exact curriculum is currently be developed but our current plan is:

•⁠ ⁠Working with an operator and the relationship between DOP and operator.
•⁠ ⁠Shooting on film with a focus on 35mm, this will including shooting film.
•⁠ ⁠Shooting using an LED wall including practical work on an LED wall.

We also plan to provide a drinks reception screening and masterclass. All food and drink is included in the ticket price.
