LONDON - The British Society of Cinematographers (BSC) are delighted to announce the nominations for the 70th Annual British Society of Cinematographers Awards.
The nominations are as follows:
CINEMATOGRAPHY IN A FEATURE FILM
This is the first nominations for Michael Bauman and Autumn Durald Arkapaw. This is the fourth nomination for Darius Khondji, he was previously nominated for Se7en (1995), Evita (1996) and Midnight In Paris (2011). This is the second nomination for Dan Laustsen, he was previously nominated for The Shape of Water (2017). This is sixth nomination for Seamus McGarvey. He previously won for Anna Karenina (2012) and Nocturnal Animals (2016) and was nominated for Atonement (2007), Bad Times at the El Royale (2018) and Cyrano (2021).
The Cinematography In A Feature Film Award is sponsored by Sunbelt Rentals (UK).
CINEMATOGRAPHY IN TELEVISION DRAMA (INTERNATIONAL/STREAMING)
In the Cinematography In A Television Drama (International/Streaming) category we have first time nominees Matthew Lewis, Álvaro Gutiérrez, Alex Disenhof and Adam Newport-Berra. This is the third nomination for Suzie Lavelle who previously won in 2020 for Normal People and was nominated in 2019 for His Dark Materials.
The Cinematography In A Television Drama (International/Streaming) category is sponsored by MBSE.
CINEMATOGRAPHY IN A TELEVISION DRAMA (UK TERRESTRIAL)
This is the first nominations for Bryan Gavigan, Ollie Downey, Laura Bellingham and Neus Ollé. This is the fifth nomination for Gavin Finney, he previously won in 2013 for The Fear and 2015 for Wolf Hall. He was also nominated in 2017 for The State and 2019 for Good Omens.
The Cinematography In A Television Drama (UK) category is sponsored by Sony.
CINEMATOGRAPHY IN A MUSIC VIDEO
Rounding off the nominations we have the Cinematography In A Music Video category. This represents the first nominations for all four Cinematographers in this category, Jake Gabbay, Rina Yang, Ziga Zupancic and Rui Jiang Ong.
The Cinematography In A Music Video category is sponsored by Aputure.

Also being presented on the 7th will be BSC Lifetime Achievement Award which has previously been announced as being presented to Remi Adefarasin OBE BSC. The BSC Short Film recipients will also be awarded - Theo Hughes (Cinematography In A Short Film - Undergraduate Student), Christopher Hudson (Cinematography In A Short Film - Postgraduate Student) and Linda Wu (Cinematography In A Short Film - BSC Club).
Other categories to be announced include the BSC John Alcott Memorial Award, BSC Bert Easey Technical Achievement Award and BSC Special Achievement Award. The British Society of Cinematographers together with the Association of Camera Operators (ACO) and the Guild of British Camera Technicians (GBCT) will present The Operators Award - Feature Film and The Operators Award - Television Drama. Nominees to be announced.
