Rules of Eligibility
Please ensure to read the below requirements carefully. Failure to meet any of the requirements could result in disqualification.
- This category is only open to cinematographers who are a resident within in the United Kingdom;
- Proof of residency will be request upon application;
- Submitted work must have had an official commercial release between the 1st January 2024 and 30th November 2024;
- Eligible Release of a music video can have been via broadcast or online;
- Submitted work should bear no credits. The cinematographers name should not be featured in submitted work. If the work has credits as part of the finished product the Cinematographer should edit these out to ensure impartiality;
- Cinematographers may submit a maximum of two entries to this category;
- The submitted music video should be at least 75% wholly original work shot by the submitting cinematographer(s).
- Music Videos that credit two main unit cinematographers are eligible and both cinematographers must be listed on the submission.
- Music Videos that feature more than two main unit cinematographers are not eligible.
- Cinematographers credited under “Additional Photography” or “Additional Cinematographers” or not eligible for submission;
Submission
Submission is via the British Society of Cinematographers Submission Form which includes:
- £50 submission fee per entry;
- Cinematographer(s) credit;
- Link to the official music video;
- The date and release platform of the music video.
Failure to meet any of the above criteria and requirements may result in disqualification.
The British Society of Cinematographers Awards and Events Committee will resolve all queries about eligibility and rules and reserve the right to declare any submission ineligible and/or change the eligibility and criteria as they see fit.
